Sew Over It Lea Dress

Buy the Lea Dress sewing pattern from Sew Over It. With a 1940s design that also resonates with a classic 1990s look, Lea is a button-up tea dress that never goes out of style. The dress features a V-neck bodice fitted with waist darts at the front and back, and a panelled skirt that drapes gently around the hips and is made for twirling. The pattern also includes optional in-seam pockets, for those of us who can’t live without them! The short sleeves are finished with turn ups, and the dress is fastened with buttons all the way down the front. Lea is perfect for spring and summer, and looks beautiful in a floral print and classic in a plain colour.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight fabrics with lots of drape, such as rayon, viscose and crepe.

Fabric requirements: Please note that to accommodate the width of the pattern, your fabric must be at least 140 cm wide.

Sizes 6 – 20

140 cm (55") wide fabric: 2.8 – 4.0 m (3 – 4 1/2 yd).

Sizes 18 – 30

140 cm (55") wide fabric: 4.2 – 4.7 m (4 1/2 – 5 1/4 yd).

Sizing: UK 6 – 20 and UK 18 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 20 and UK 20 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Eleven 8-12 mm buttons; 75 cm of 90 cm wide interfacing; seam tape interfacing to stabilise the neckline, 1 m for sizes 6-20 or 1.5 m for sizes 18-30 (optional).
